At times, children may experience social, emotional or behavioral problems that interfere with their functioning at school and with friends and family. During these times, families often find it helpful to meet with a child therapist to discuss the problems and work together to generate strategies that may help the child. Therapy provides the child a safe environment in which to work through the problems, using a variety of techniques. The psychologist will also work closely with the child’s parents throughout the process.
We provide child therapy services to children of all ages. We use our professional training to assess the presenting problem and collaboratively develop an individualized treatment plan with parents. We utilize a cognitive-behavioral framework, influenced by positive behavior support, to provide psycho-education to our clients about the condition and develop adaptive coping strategies.
We believe that the therapist-client relationship is most successful when you feel comfortable and connect with your psychologist. To that end, we would be happy to schedule a complementary phone consultation with you to discuss your concerns about your child and determine if it appears to be a good fit.
